Frequently Asked Questions
Which dating app is best?
This answer will vary based on your goals. Many say that Eharmony is the best rated Dating App for those looking for a serious relationship because it features both a free Basic Membership as well as paid options for more advanced searching! Eharmony has lead to over 2 million relationships, so it could be a great option for you as well! Silver Singles is the best dating app for people over 40!
Personally I enjoyed my time using Hinge as it requires people to put in some serious work to their profiles and it is easy to see when the effort is just not there.
What dating apps are for free?
Elite Singles, Eharmony Basic Membership (With paid options available), Zoosk, Christian Mingle, and Silver Singles are all free or have free options with a basic plan! Many dating apps have free plans and for some apps like Hinge this is enough to meet some quality people. Facebook Dating is completely free but is limited to people who have the facebook app.
What is the safest dating app?
While many dating apps have safety features such as selfie verification, it is important to always make safe choices when meeting a stranger from the internet. Meet in a public, well populated place, drive yourself or get a ride there, have an exit plan in place for if you do not feel comfortable, and don’t be afraid to get servers involved to walk you to your car or wait with you if you are feeling unsafe. While on Dating apps check if the accounts you are chatting with are verified as a first precaution.
Which dating app is best for beginners?
While we are not affiliated with them, I reccomend Hinge as a great beginner dating app, and Bumble as a follow up. I was actually surprised at the options on Facebook Dating as well! Hinge tends to be a fan-favorite as you can see a profile several times before matching with them. Bumble and Facebook dating both have “Friends first” options, just be sure to communicate with the other person about your intentions so you are on the same page.
Do dating apps really work?
Dating apps are a great option for meeting people you might miss on your day to day. It gives you an opportunity to be specific about where you are at in life and what you want in a relationship. While there is never guarenteed success on any particular dating app, it is most important to show up and be yourself. If you don’t find a match right away, just remember when you weren’t on dating apps and someone may not have seen your profile! New people join every day, so don’t lose heart. One more piece of advice I’d offer is to find out what social groups are active near you. You may find friends who knows someone, or better, you may meet someone there who shares a common interest with you like hiking, yoga, or even bingo!
Which dating app is best for guys?
I personally cannot answer for this myself, but the interwebs says that it depends on your intentions, and different apps will attract different folks. It may take trying a few apps based on the reviews (or lack thereof) to find the right match for you. (Lol see what I did there??) ;P
Which dating app is best for women?
I can answer this one and I have found Hinge and Facebook Dating to have the least amount of creeps, with hinge being the top choice. This is after trying a looooot of apps. The free version of hinge still gives me a lot of options for filtering by things that are important to me like faith. I didn’t like bumble’s time limits, I didn’t have the stomach to try tinder or the like, and I did meet a few nice guys on facebook dating however there were a few weirdos there as well. To my knowlege, Facebook dating is free, and it is nice because you can find people’s actual profiles fairly easily to check if they are who they say they are. (Especially if they are a friend of a friend, then you can just search their friends’ list)
Which dating app is completely free?
Elite Singles, Eharmony Basic Membership (With paid options available), Zoosk, Christian Mingle, and Silver Singles are all free or have free options with a basic plan!
Facebook dating is completely free and included with the facebook mobile app.
How do I sign up for a dating app or website?
To sign up for a dating site, first choose from one of the options listed at the beginning of this page. Next create an account! You will need some basic information about yourself, such as Name, age, and Email, then you will get to fill out your profile! Which leads to our next FAQ:
How do I create a dating profile?
When creating a dating profile it is best to be honest and positive! Really take a moment to reflect, maybe grab a piece of paper and write about your likes and dislikes. How would you discribe yourself to a friend? How would a friend discribe you to a potential date? What values are important to you? What are your dreams and goals? What are your hobbies? Without writing a complete essay, jot a few ideas down before starting your profile. Then just fill in the blanks! Some will be easy, like, “How old are you?” and others will take more thought. Write what you think someone should know about you ahead of time, but leave it short, as a good conversation starter for later. Remember this: You are worthy of love. Write your profile in a light that makes you proud to be you! You are pretty cool!
